La Petite Maison's Cocktail – How to Make It

We present an easy interpretation of a beverage found on the seasonal drinks list. Designed as a batch premix that's bursting with the essence of the Christmas time, rendering it excellent for your festive gathering. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup you can use for morning drinks, desserts, or to mix more rounds of bikinis.

The Bikini Cocktail

Serves 10 people

For the Clementine Syrup (produces 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

Ingredients for the Premix (yields 850ml, to serve 10)

400ml decent vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml clementine cordial (from the recipe above)
Whole cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing

Directions

Making the Citrus Syrup: Put the listed ingredients inside a pot, bring to a gentle boil, mixing to dissolve. Next, remove from the heat and leave to cool entirely. Transfer to a sterilised bottle, cap it keeping it chilled, where it will keep for up to four weeks.

For the Premix: Mix all the liquids into a large bottle, let it rest for an hour, then filter it preferably using muslin, making it completely strained.

When ready to serve: Pour 85ml of the batch mix into a mixing glass packed with ice, and agitate lightly for a minute to cool it down. Filter into a chilled martini glass or similar, top with a few cranberries and finish with a light spray with the mandarin essence over the drink.
